Susie Coelho Enterprises (SCE) is a multi-media lifestyle company founded in 1997 by style guru, Susie Coelho. Under Susie’s leadership, SCE has successfully expanded its businesses including licensing of the Susie Coelho brands, product development, publishing, television and strategic corporate partnerships.
A representative of an emerging desire for individuality, Susie and her SCE team encourage others to create harmony in every aspect of their lives by creating expressions of their own personal taste and style. Often referred to as a lifestyle guru, Susie provides straightforward tips on home style, gardening, entertaining and cooking in a fun and easy-to-follow way. With a busy career and two children, she knows first-hand how difficult it can be to find time for entertaining, cooking and conventional decorating. Having coined the phrase “undecorating,” Susie’s focus is on having fun with simple and personal styling to achieve maximum impact – always following her heart and her instincts. She loves the world of style and loves helping and inspiring others.
Susie started her career as a successful Ford model in New York and then made her way West to pursue an acting career. She appeared in television and film, opened restaurants and stores and became a full-time stay at home mom. When her son went off to school Susie decided to return to work but didn’t know what to do. By bringing together her earlier life experiences, she successfully launched her multi-media lifestyle company, Susie Coelho Enterprises, where she lives and breathes her passion every day.
A true Renaissance woman with international style, Susie is of East Indian heritage, and was raised in England, France, and Washington D.C.
Susie is always pushing the envelope. “Keep creating” is her motto and she exemplifies this in every aspect of her work – whether it’s creating new ideas, product development, decorating or entertaining.
Susie launched her television career as an actress and television host. She appeared in many television episodes and movies including “Perfect,” “Electric Boogaloo.” and a cult favorite, “Breakin 2.” She covered top entertainment events including the Emmys, Grammys, and the Academy Awards for HBO’s Entertainment News.
She was a forerunner in the makeover genre with her two hit series Surprise Gardener and Outer Spaces on Home and Garden Television (HGTV). She also hosted over ten specials for HGTV including “White House Christmas Memories,” “The Look for Spring”, Epcot International, and “The Making of the Rose Parade.”
She has also become a favorite for on-air style advice and appears regularly as a lifestyle contributor on numerous network shows including NBC’s Today, ABC’s The View, Oprah, Access Hollywood, CNN and Fox.
The Susie Coelho Design Studio started with the first licensing program which was with Mervyns department stores – a robust initiative which launched in the fall of 2005. Target, who owned Mervyns at the time, came to Susie to develop a collection of home basics and décor and her first program under the brand Susie Coelho Style.™ was born. Since then, her licensing portfolio has expanded to include programs with QVC, Grandin Road, Calyx & Corolla and Magid, a garden glove and accessory line that is sold throughout the United States. Her categories of product span home, garden and entertaining, with bedding, bath, tabletop, luggage, home décor, wall art, outdoor and indoor furniture, seasonal décor, floral collections and garden gloves. The SCE Design Studio now develops hundreds of products a year for a number of retailers.
